The "No Child Left Behind Act" of 2001 requires state assesment systems to test students in reading/language arts, mathematics, and science, but the law does not require state level testing in fine arts. Nonetheless, fine arts remain an integral component of the public-school curricula, and we believe these Expectations provide "a valuable tool for local educators".
Art is not just for the "talented". Art has been recognized as a basis regarding basic eduction: Reading, English, Mathematics, History, Science and Health. The curriculum in the art sessions will enable the students to use various materials in different ways.
